Magic 100: Day 9 – Who are you surrounding yourself with?

Friday 30th September… what a fantastic day! A day spent in the company of awesomeness. A day spent in the company of heart-centred entrepreneurs and coaches.

The day started with the school run, an opportunity to spend precious time with my daughter. After dropping her off at school, it was on to Warwick train station. Sitting on the platform waiting for the train to arrive, the sky was blue, the sun was shining brilliantly and the rays were warming.

Onto the train, the journey time spent journalling and reading. The time seemed to fly.

A walk from Marylebone to Baker Street and onto the tube; 25 minutes later seeing natural light again at Angel. A walk up a bustling Islington High Street to Dax Moy’s studios and into the day of awesomeness!

The energy in the room was amazing. For nearly 7 hours there was knowledge and experience shared, powerful questions, humour and stories. The whole time I was in a zen like state; the energy and information lapping over me and then absorbed like waves rolling up a sandy beach.

So much learning consciously and sub-consciously. Associations being made; dotting the is, crossing the ts.

New people met and relationships forming.

Into the evening and the Enlightened Coach meetup, a smaller group but nonetheless powerful and energetic. More lessons and insight. By now my mind was protesting, the sensation in my head that I have had many times before in such powerful environments; links being made, neural networks being strengthened and formed.

All too soon, it was time to head back. The morning journey in reverse. Journalling and audible listening… and a crafty snooze, waking just in time to get off the train.

What a fantastic day.

The day really reinforced the importance of finding the ‘right’ mentors and coaches, surrounding myself with great people who are all on this journey to become the best version of themselves, to powerfully serve the world. It is widely cited that we become like the people that we choose to surround ourselves with & associate with.

The people we surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards. They either help us to become the best version of ourselves or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves. We become like our friends. No man becomes great on his own. No woman becomes great on her own. The people around them help to make them great.

We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the best version of ourselves.

I invite you to take a few moments and consider this. Who are you choosing to associate with? Are they helping to take you towards or away from your dreams and purpose in life?
